Hi, Carol. You inspired me to put together and post a little collage of the moments as a mother that have shaped me. None of these pictures are amazing in a technical or artistic way, but they are the ones that mean the most to me. Carol, you are in my collage because, of all my friends, I think that being a mother is the most in your blood and you are so dedicated to your calling that it inspires me.

Carol… not everyone is in love with being a mother. We can consider ourselves the lucky ones who enjoy each moment with our beautiful children. Thank you for posting these pictures. I can’t help but think of what a stronger person I am because of Halle… Happy Mothers Day!

Mothers Day

By Carol

Here is my Mom and Grandpa 2 months before my oldest brother arrived. I love this picture for so many differant reasons. Most cause its my mom.

I have grown to love this picture and two others from the “before I was born” folder a lot more as I have gotten older. One of the other ones is living in my scriptures and the other, I have it saved while waiting for a frame.

Now that I have been through where my mom was right at that time in her life, I like it even more. I can relate to it much more. So in celebration of Mother’s Day, I wanted to share 3 of my favorite photos that I hope will be special to our kids some day.

This is with Elliott. Obviously still early on. I think i was about 6.5 or 7 months. Right before you really pop out. Well - the first time around anyway. I absolutly love this photo. I love the lines, I love the light, i love… well you get it. This is one that I want framed on my own wall as well. I felt imcredibaly lucky when I saw it on our camera screen. It took 3 trys, (and I like all three shots) but this one just melts me.

Here is my favorite pregnancy picture with Neela. It is just such a tender shot. Totally speaks pages. Its hard to believe there was a time when Elliott was alone. This picture actually IS on our wall. Even framed!

And this one is one of my favorites with Roland. I am only about 7 months here. (what a differance from Elliott) I’m not quite sure why I like this picture so much other than I just do. This will be in either Neelas room or Rolands. Maybe I will let them choose.

So, what about anyone else? Got any pictures celebrating mothers you wanna link to? I’d love to see any pregnancy or not. Any momma pictures.

Oh, and by the way …

To my Momma, and my Smith Mom, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!! I love you both very much. Thank you for making the decision so many years ago to do what I am doing now. I thrive on hearing your success stories as Mothers and strong women.
