So with Ethan and I getting prepared for his full time school schedule in addition to his full work schedule, i have been taking the kids to see Ethan a few times a week for a lunch date.
We ride public transit to save money on gas. Along with public transit anywhere, there are a few loopty loops riding with you. There is usually 2 people who chat with us.
first is the older women. Grandma’s or great grandmas. These ones usually have a lot to say. And second are the thirty something women who look for a while with a little sparkle in their eyes. Then a little bit of sadness hinted, they strike up converseration. The other day was a little different. It must have been break hour at the pubs downtown, cause there was A LOT of alcohol on that train. Boy Howdy. One man almost ran into the door jam as he was teetering trying to get off the train while watching my kids and professing a little to loudly “You kids made my day. You made my life better today!” It was actually kinna cool. His reaction was very unexpected.
Anyway - there is usually a small chat that happens between us. I have decided to write them down on cards and hand them as soon as i see someone’s eyes bug out at the site of our shear number of small people. the card will say this:
1. Yes, they are all mine.
2. Yes they are beautiful. Thank you.
3. No - they are not twins (not sure
which two are being stared at.)
4. Hes 3, shes 2 and hes 1.
5. Hands full, yes, but I wouldn’t change
it for the world.
6. Mormon.
7. Yes, I think there are at least 2
more coming.
8. Thanks, you have a good day too.
Thats not mean - right?
Ethan
Those are the exact answers in the exact order during the exact conversations I have every time I go out with them. I need this card.

Since you have a very good chance of never seeing anyone you meet on public transit ever again, I’d say do a test run. I’d love to see a person’s reaction when you handed them the card. Or you could memorize the card and see how fast you could spout the answers before they ask the questions.
IT'S ME
we have had this conversation…. I think it’s an awesome idea, and handing them the card would totally save on postage and would help the saving money situation!
you should add one more… yes we do take donations

Hehehehe….ah yes, I totally understand this one! And we usually get a few “you have the happiest kids ever!” as they leave the metro. I wonder which part they were refering to? The screaming for snacks, or when I tell them to stop picking previously chewed gum under the seat?
And you forgot my favorite: “Yes, I do know what causes that…and obviously we’re really good at it!”
(no I have yet to use it, but other close mommies I know have!)
