Last weekend, Elliott and I had Friday and Saturday to ourselves….

When asked Elliott requested to paint. He rushed the other kids and daddy out the door on friday so we could get down to business. First we watercolored. Then ate pizza for dinner. Then we walked to 7-11 and slurped down slurpees as we walked across the street to the rec. center. We were planning on playing on the playground, but still had a little left in our cups, so we went to observation dec over the swimming pools. Since Elliott was going to start swim class on the following monday, I took the opportunity to show him around a little. We decided it was a good idea to buy a pass for the family for 3 months for the pool. So we walked home, put on our swimming gear and headed back for family swim hour. Concidering Elliott had never been in a pool before, (I know, pathetic) he did really well. After we slid down the slide about 7 times and went under water the same amount. After he wore me out, we headed home. showers made us clean, and our beds were calling our names.

The next morning, we watched a movie and of course, Elliott requested painting. This time tempera paint was the right media. We had paper drying everywhere. I had so much fun playing with just Elliott. It was helpful for both of us. This week has been great, and I think part of that is because of our time together. I really like that kid.
