A few weeks ago Neela had her first Ballet “recital”. Basically its where all us parents come sit in the room with our cameras and promp the girls to pay attention to the teacher instead of the paparazzi who comment of sweet little girls and wanting to “eat em up”….(I’d be scared too if I were them)

Every Tuesday after class we would be in such a rush to get a few errands done before picking up Elliott from school, that I never really took the time to set the things she was taught in class. The day of the recital, I asked her to show me her moves, and this is what she gave me. As well as a move with her foot in the air and arms out. I was very impressed and pleased to see she likes it so far.

Neela paid most her attention to anyone and anything that was not her teacher. She stood staring at the parents and the cameras with that look that says “What the what you lookin at, Punk?” In actuality, I think she is saying, “hmmm…. cameras, lots of people, and they are looking at me. I dont really know how to take this.

Her teacher said she was fantastic every class. Focused and interested. I was pleased to hear that. But ya know, if she didnt like ballet, we’d rotate to another class till we found something.

She just started the next session, so we will see how this one goes too. The same teacher, same class, different girls. Only 5 in all this time. I think thats good for Neela. As well as a repeat of the stuff she had a few weeks ago. I am so grateful we have such a large Recreation Center in our area. The summers here are fantastic, so many things to be a part of. So many pictures to be taken. :-) And believe me, with sports classes, swimming classes and more ballet, there will most defiantly be more pictures to see.
